Drabble: The Chameleon and the Warbler
Summary: Kurt is one of the best students at McKinley Academy, school for Exceptional Men and Women. On the outside, it’s a fancy boarding school, but on the inside it trains its students to be spies. Then Kurt meets his match - Blaine Anderson - from their sister school, Dalton Academy. emmybiscuit asked for a Klaine Spy Academy AU based on a book series I haven’t read - so I adapted it a bit!
“Hey Chameleon!”
Kurt turned away from his locker, smiling down at his friend Mercedes. “Hey girl,” he said, shutting his locker with a dull click. Mercedes leaned against the lockers next to his and sighed, reaching down to smooth out the pleated skirt.
“Remind me to sign up for a school without a rigid uniform dress code next time,” she said. “Then maybe I could use all the clothes you and I shop for on a regular basis.”
“They aren’t so bad,” said Kurt. He reached over and brushed some lint off Mercedes’ blazer, then he reached up to straighten his red tie. “Besides - the maximize your ability to blend in with the crowd.”
“You would say that, Mr. Chameleon,” said Mercedes.
“I didn’t earn that nickname for nothing, you know,” he said with a mischievous wink. “Come on, let’s get to class.” He and Mercedes linked arms, following a few other peers down the hall to class.
When the first bell had rang, their teacher, Agent Collins turned away from writing on the white board. “Today’s lesson will be about covert affairs,” she began, her boots clicking on the floor as she walked around the desk. “And the art of disguise and subtlety - two things that, besides your cunning and quick thinking, will help you most while on a case.”
Agent Collins looked at Kurt with a small grin. “Mr. Hummel, you particularly excel in this area. I will use you as an example. For instance, class, if you are undercover in a hostile situation you must always…”
Kurt grinned and took copious notes during the lesson.
They didn’t call him the best undercover spy-in-training at McKinley Academy for Exceptional Men and Women for nothing, after all.

This is kind of late, because real life sucks and it ruined my pacing on this. I’m aware that this fic is terrible lol. By terrible I mean that Kurt and Sebastian’s relationship is very dysfunctional, and I don’t really know why I wrote this okay but I’ve always wanted to explore this kind of thing. Also sorry for doing so many AU’s this week, I just can’t help myself.
